The ESa Sounder Campaign 2011 conducts field measurements utilizing the high-altitude research aircraft Geophysica to quantify processes that control the composition and structure of the mid to upper troposphere and lower stratosphere (UTLS). This campaign will support the in-flight testing of an imaging infra-red limb-sounder (GLORIA) and millimetre-wave limb-sounder (MARSHALS) to support the demonstration of capabilities of ESA's Earth Explorer 7 candidate PREMIER.
